Cook Fish. My Favourite Fish Main Recipe

One of the challenges of the Eat drink & Be Hubbalicious Contest is converting what you do every day when you cook into words. A recipe that people who do not know can understand ! Anyway I willl try so please bear with me.

Grilled Salmon Steak

My favourite food is fish and my favourite main course is salmon. Why I even like salmon for breakfast with eggs Benedict. Anyway back of my favourite main recipe and that is salmon steak with, snow peas, carrots zucchini, potato-au-gratin.

A salmon steak is one of the easiest things to cook. You can grill it steam it. barbecue it. The image above the Salmon steak has been barbecued so you get that distinct side taste of charcoal as part of the taste and texture after the steak has been seared on the barbecue plate.

Potatoes au gratin

Potatoes au gratin

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups diced cooked potatoes
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs

Preparation:

Potatoes au gratin recipe.
Place potatoes in a shallow, broiler-proof baking dish. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt 6 tablespoons butter. Remove 3 tablespoons of butter to a cup or bowl; set aside. To the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter in the saucepan, add flour. Stir to blend well; gradually stir in milk. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until sauce is thick and smooth. Add cheese and continue stirring until cheese is melted. Pour sauce over potatoes in baking dish; mix gently. Place bread crumbs in a bowl; drizzle with remaining 3 tablespoons melted butter; toss to coat. Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs evenly over potatoes. Bake potatoes au gratin at 400° for about 15 minutes to heat through, then broil until golden brown. Recipe for potatoes au gratin serves 4.

Snow peas and carrots.

Snow peas and carrots.

I like carrots prepared into long strips I think they call that Julienne? then steamed in a steamer for around ten minutes so they are still crunchy.

With the snow peas they require less time say ten minutes max you can add them easily to the carrots which are being steamed after about five minutes.

plating up

Finally you need to plate up placing the salmon steak carefully on a plate and surrounding it in a artistic way just how you like the food to look. I like to finish by adding White sauce to the vegetables if i have the time.

Some tips from you might help lazy writers like me. :)
