There are many times during ones life when one examines how your life is measuring up. This is necessary as the saying goes a "Life left unexamined is one not worth living."

The book The LikeAbility Factor makes the argument that being liked is essential in getting what one wants out of life.  We need others to like us in order to cooperate and help us get what we want. When you consider how to make a success of things many things come to mind but one thing overall is popularity. You need popularity to get people to get things done for you. The more popular you are the more likely you will being successful. People like other people that make life easy for them. The reason is life can be so challenging that someone who apparently makes it easier for you you are going to worship and want to impress & do things for. What your doing or want to do people are more likely to offer assistance you rather than thwart your path along the way.

In all relationships love, marriage, work, sport education all these task require a relationship with others whom perform part of the process. We all need people to guide, educate, encourage serve and inform us of the world around us without which we would be completely lost. Without which we would be at the mercy of nature and as we know even nature can be cruel.

For more on this issue there is a book out called the Likability Factor which I have yet to review. This book apparently builds on the best research work of others on the topic.

One of the ways to start being liked is to be a better listener. This book like many other self help and counselling books suggest you do this. This is sage advice as most of us are very poor overall at listening to others in a meaningful way

This book was significantly successful in persuading the reader that being likeable was an essential element in getting things done and achieving the very things that can make your life both happy and successful.
