Francesca Schiavone Tennis Champion

Francesca Schiavone is the French Women's Open Tennis Champion.

Having spent ten years without missing one grand slam tennis event on the Women's Tennis Association Circuit Veteran Italian Tennis Star Francesca Schiavone defeated Australia Samantha Stosur at Rolland Garros today.

From the opening of the first game Schiavone showed grit determination talent and fitness to outplay favourite Stosur through the whole match. During the second set Stosur made a comeback by winning the first three sets but Schiavone quickly fought back by winning the next four sets. Schiavone clearly deserved the win with her attacking shots and deft play. Stosur's serve game was off form with repeated second serves coming into play. Winning the match 6-4, 7-6. the second set won in a tie-breaker to clinch the title.

In 2011 again hosted the first Grand slam event the Australian Open . Melbourne Australia event the Australian Open witnessed the longest quarter final three set event ever. Schiavone showed incredible form in a match which lasted four hours and forty four minutes . Schiavone won the match in a nail-biting gain that fluctuated between herself and her opponent Svetlana Kuznetsova. The final set went to 16-14 It what I believe was the best women's match I have ever witnessed.
