Relay Writing - Creative Writing Prompt

A simple rumor can wreck a promising legal career- O'h I was only saying yesterday to my gym partner David how the mighty have fallen. Just a week or two back the former eminent Justice Blackshaw was released from Gaol. After giving false testimony over a speeding ticket. Can you believe that I said that Blackshaw attempted to avoid paying a speeding ticket by testifying that the driver was not him but a dead women. We all now know that was an old flame of Blackshaw's that died years ago. After shelling out many tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees, Blackshaw's plea for innocence fell rightly on sceptically deaf ears. He was gaoled for six with a minimum of three. The scam was pure fairly tale. Not only did his distinguished legal career come crashing down Blackshaw was forced to hand in his knighthood. Most of his many supporters left him and now the 35 year legal eagle has ended in his reputation in tatters.

There was another matter where a Lawyer had an affair with a female client who wanted him to arrange for surveilance of her rich husband; With a view to finding dirt which would assist in her yet to be made public alimony claim. In a nutshell the lawyer doctored up some evidence with the assistance of a shonky Private Investigator. Eventually the story unraveled, the truth came out the Investigator, the Lawyer and the client ended up serving serious time.

Now could it be that I face a similar fate?Heaven forbid. If a scandal breaks goes viral and wrecks my reputation. My mind quickly races to the present. How will I reconcile what happened? Can I find out the truth out without causing scandal to myself and my family? Grandad Wilson I know would never forgive me. If I was to bring the Wilson's name into disrepute. All the public school fees that Grandpa chipped in with would seem wasted. All the help with extra tuition fees at Uni and the like. The private tutoring from the top tutors not to mention those beaut ski-ing holidays to Vale Aspen and the Italian Alps which Pop Wilson paid for. I know I would not I cope! No longer could I go to the same hairdressers beauty salon or even drinkies with the girls on a Friday night without overwhelming shame. My Social life will be shattered. I am trying to come up with an excuse for whatever happened last night. Secondly I don't even remember what happened but feel sure it was wrong. But then should I just forget what might have occurred and try and not worrying until I am really sure something I did was so so wrong?. The dilemma is killing me! What the hell ! I am grasping at straws! To be continued watch this space...]
