How to be a Groom

Look tell me I know your not a dummy right. But still do you know what it means to be a groom? No well please keep reading. As you know many of us blunder through many events which we have never been taught. It might be our first kiss our first sexual experience. It might be the first date. There are so many things where were left totally unprepared for the role

Often one of these is being a groom. Thee is a lot of preparation in being a groom to make things such as the wedding ceremony to run smoothly.

Firstly she's the one right ? Good !

next. How many cattle is your bride bringing to the wedding reception. Years ago this would not have mattered as the brides parents(a dowry) would have taken care of the bill. Now things are not so sure. In-fact you and your partner may well have to bear the cost!

A Groom takes on the role as Groom as soon as he becomes engaged.

Your engagement . Whats in store...

Wedding setting a date

setting a budget

introducing parents to each other

choosing your best man

no for wedding party

attending an engagement party

creating a guest list

wedding day seating plan

registering for gifts

choosing a ceremony site

choosing a reception site

decorations & flowers

choosing tux style

transportation for the wedding day

photographer hire

reception menu items

wedding band for the bride

wedding gift for the bride

rehearsal dinner

acquiring a marriage licence

choosing a honeymoon venue.

You need to decide who pays for what and why kind of wedding ceremony your going to have. Usually a stressful but exciting task if you do it yourself.

Next you need to set a wedding date. to make sure you have enough time and it does not conflict with other important events. New years eve, Easter Christmas etc..

As a guide these are the time-lines

6 months before

appointment with clergy. Guest list, best man choice. plan honeymoon. Check passports & Visas.

4 months before

buy wedding rings

select formal wear

find a new place to live.

2 months

set a date with fiance to get a marriage licence

1 month

reservations for rehearsal dinner

select brides gifts and gifts for the attendant

confirm honeymoon detail reservation

two weeks

move belongings into new home

have a bachelor party.

one week

confirm time & place of wedding

pick up wedding rings

pick up formal wear

pack for the honeymoon.

This is the basic plan you should look at in a later blog i will go into more detail.

Check out the hot new items to hit the shelves this Christmas that I’ve found to be great gifts for the my kids or even a freind. Photokinz is a plush animal that has a digital photo frame in its belly, and i-Sing is a portable handheld Mp3 karaoke player and I just know my 11 and 9 yr old daughters are going to love them. If anyone wants to find any information on these new items you can go to www.itsoutrageous.com! It’s a Great Buy!
